Welcome to Trinity United Methodist Church |
| In the heart of the Oil City area is located
Trinity United Methodist Church, "The Church with a Heart in the Heart of
Town." The members of Trinity are reaching out to persons residing in
Oil City and surrounding areas with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through: |
| WORSHIP |
The Worship Service helps people grow closer to one another
and closer to God. The Sunday Morning Worship Service begins at 10:00
am. Holidays and other events provide other opportunities for special
worship services. |
| EDUCATIONAL MINISTRIES |
Trinity offers several opportunities for children, youth
and adults to learn more about their faith. A variety of Sunday School
classes are held every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. |
| Youth Group for grades 6 - 12th meets on Sunday nights from
6:30 - 7:30 p.m. providing young people an opportunity to gather, serve, and
fellowship together. |
| Christ's Kids Club - First and third Sunday evening of
every month from 6-7:30 p.m. Children ages 3-5th grade are welcome.
Activities include: music, stories and games, crafts, snack and
prayer. |
| Girls Club - 6:30 - 8:00 3rd Sunday of the
month. Girls club is open to all girls in grades 5th -8th . This
group talks about the issues young girls' face in middle school. |
| Short term Topical Bible Studies as well as the Disciple
Bible Study are offered periodically for all to attend. |
| MUSIC |
The Music Ministry enables the church to express our deep
spiritual feelings of faith. The Chancel Choir provides a meaningful
and diverse ministry of music. It meets on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:30
p.m. Occasionally, a children's choir also sings for our Worship
Services. There are many opportunities for individuals and groups to
share their musical abilities. The annual Festival of Carols
demonstrates the talent of our choir and our choir members. |
| CONGREGATIONAL CARE |
Trinity Loving Care (TLC) are caregivers whose task is to
reach out in love and concern to persons who are unable to participate
regularly in the parish life. Our Prayer Life Ministry includes a
Prayer Lifeline, card ministry, and prayer vigil for members of the church
and community. |
| MISSION |
Trinity Church fulfills its missional outreach both locally
and globally. The on-going mission program of the United Methodist
Church is faithfully supported. Local projects such as the Salvation
Army, the Habitat for Humanity, The Center of Hope, and the Women's Shelter
are also supported. The church provides food and financial services on
an emergency basis to those in need. Trinity Church commits itself to
sharing and spreading the love of Christ into all the world. |
| FELLOWSHIP |
The congregation meets regularly for special family
programs, theme dinners, and parties. These congregational gatherings
provide an opportunity for making each other feel "at home."
There is also a fellowship time from 10:30 - 10:45 on Sunday after worship
service. |
| WOMEN'S MINISTRIES |
There are two opportunities for women to gather for
fellowship, inspiration, and service. The United Methodist Women meet
at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. The Hope Circle meets
on the third Tuesday also, but at 7:30 p.m. |

PERSONAL
TOUCH |
Our goal is to assist every person young or old, who desire
a deeper faith and a stronger relationship with God. Biblical
preaching is offered to feed the spiritually hungry; Bible Study and
Christian Education is offered to nourish the mind and equip the body for
service, Pastoral counseling is offered to assist those who find it
difficult to bring life and faith together. We don't have all the answers.
And we fall short of perfection. But we do want to be a place where
people can get in touch with God, and where people can find a friendly face
and hear a kind word. For those who are looking for an alternative to
what the world offers, Trinity United Methodist Church is a place to begin. |
